STUDENT PROJECT- THE BOOK OF HALF
These images are part of a piece I created in one of my photography studios by projecting typography onto my model. The text appears both on the images of the figure and in the finished book in separate text windows mingled with the pictures; all are printed on translucent vellum. The book which I titled 'the book of half' refers to the plight of two lovers separated by an ocean, struggling with forgetting each other and the ways that they hold on to their memories. This happened to be my own story at the time. The entire text follows, although in the book it does not follow in a linear fashion:

-the book of half-
my sleeping eye still knows your face
it is when I sleep
that you come to me quiet
in the dark and smiling
strange lives unfold around us, these dreams
the still way his mind remembers her
what is the truth of her face
photographs do not remember everything
empty hands holding each other
you come to me on winds which the day brings
is it so important to know
your skin and your lips
the color of your eyes
forgive me for what is forgotten
