| EQUIVALENTS |
| Two pairs from a series of male nudes and winter foliage. The female body is frequently compared to organic forms, most notably in the Art Noveau movement, and I wanted to see if I could use the frequently ignored male nude in a similar fashion. Durng a winter walk, I was taken with the way exposed plant forms contrasted with the snow like hair on skin and thought that a visual equivalent was called for. I framed each of these images with a fibrous handmade paper, sewing them into a window torn into the center of each matte. I then sewed together sets of three and four of the paper frames.
